Body Sculpting with MesotherapyMesotherapy has been used in Europe since 1952 when it was first described by Dr. Michel Pistor of France. Dr. Pistor described the method of injecting medicinals into the middle layer of the skin, called the mesoderm, to control painful joints. Since that time the technique has been used for other purposes including the dissolving of fat by injecting different FDA approved substances under the skin into the layers of fat and connective tissue. For cosmetic purposes, Mesotherapy has a number of applications including hair loss, weight loss, spot body contouring, face and neck rejuvenation and cellulite reduction. Diet and exercise can help reduce fat in many areas of the body, but there are always some areas that just don't respond. Fatty deposits in cheeks, under the eyes forming bags, chin, jaw line, hips, neck (turkey neck), "love handles" and "saddle bags", and cellulite can be very difficult to remove with exercise alone. Now Mesotherapy can provide an alternative answer. A mixture of medications used in Mesotherapy can melt fat beneath the skin and shrink the deeper fat cells. The fat is subsequently absorbed into the bloodstream where it is carried away from the body through the kidneys. The formula that treats cellulite destroys the connective tissues that cause the dimpling effect and dissolve fat cells that are trapped within. The result is a smooth, wrinkle-free appearance. A Mesotherapy treatment called a Mesolift of Mesoglow is a treatment to the face to provide a mini-facelift. It is the introduction of collagen supporting medications via mini punctures of the skin of the face which after several days gives the skin of the face a plumper image which minimizes wrinkles. Another use for the technique is for the restoration of hair loss. Certain hair growth stimulating medications are introduced into the scalp which can promote hair follicle growth. The procedure, regardless of the condition, is simple and relatively painless. A very fine needle is used to enter the layer of skin involved and a small amount of medication is injected. For fat dissolve, some itching and redness and inflammation may occur and last for several days. For a mesolift of hair loss treatment, some minor irritation may occur for the first few hours. For those that are very sensitive, a topical anesthetic may be used to help alleviate discomfort. In summary, Mesotherapy offers an alternative to liposuction in some instances, and provides a relatively non-invasive way of contouring your body for a more aesthetically pleasing and healthier look. |
